Robert W. Kurtz, age 79, of Toledo, passed away on April 18, 2017.  He was born on November 23, 1937 to Arthur and Helen (Lompies) Kurtz in Toledo.   Bob graduated Macomber High School and served in the Army National Guard, 37th Division.  He worked as a sanitarian for the Toledo Health Department, retiring after 38 years.  Bob coached football for the C.Y.O. at O.L.P.H. for 26 years.  He was a past member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus.   In the 1970’s, Bob received his pilot license and enjoyed flying his small plane.  Bob also enjoyed traveling to Traverse City, his trips to Germany and spending time with his family.
   Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.   He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Koch); children, David (Lesley), Mike (Vicki) and Jeff (Melissa) Kurtz; grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Johnny, Derek, Faith, Kristina, Jessica, Aidan and Hannah; and sister, Martha Kurtz.
   Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11:00a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00a.m.  Interment will be private.   Memorial contributions may be directed to the Josina Lott Community, St. John’s Jesuit High School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.   The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Allied Home Care for their compassionate care and support.

God bless you Mary Ann and the boys. It is a sad day but with happy memories. I was able to spend many happy moments and funny ones too, coaching with him and being his friend. He helped me through many hard times and got me smiling when I needed to. God bless you all!
