Jerome F. Kaszynski, age 86, of Toledo, died suddenly of natural causes on Thursday, March 15, 2018.  He was born on April 3, 1931 to Dr. Leonard L. and Frances (Chaddek) Kaszynski in Toledo, Ohio.  He worked at Libbey Owens Ford Glass from age 17 until his retirement in 1986 with an interruption of about 2 years from 1951-1953.   During that time, he served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict as a radio operator where he received several medals and commendations.  He returned home but continued his service to the Army with 6 years in the Reserves.  Jerry was a man with a wide variety of interests and hobbies; among them were restoring old cars, collecting rare cars, water and snow skiing.  He traveled the United States and Europe extensively and in his younger days was a body builder.  He was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church and had a wide variety of charities that he contributed generously to on a regular basis.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard D. Kaszynski; sister Joanne P. Kaszynski Burgard; nieces, Marie Burgard Martin, Terese Burgard, Catherine Gilbert, Shirley Tucholski; and nephew Robert L. Burgard.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his one remaining sister, Shirley M. Fike.  Also left to cherish his memory are his nieces Patricia Pitzen and Janice Moore, as well as nephews Gregory Burgard and Thomas Burgard; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 10:30 a.m., where family and friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m.   Burial will be private.  Memorial tributes may be directed to Veterans of Foreign Wars, Camp Miakonda, Paralyzed Veterans of America, or The Toledo Humane Society.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jerry’s long-time ‘angel’ Angie Jarzeboski.  Jerry would have been lost without you.

Dear Kaszynski Family,

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jerry. I helped him when Richard passed & we became great friends.

I understand that he is going to be buried with Richard at Rittman Veterans Cemetery. If you would please let me know when this will be, I would like to attend so he doesn't go alone if none of the family is going to attend. Angie has my number or you can email me at the address above.

Again, I've very sorry for your loss.
