Walter J. Kubicki, 85, passed away on April 1, 2012. Walter was born in Toledo September 8, 1926, the son of Andrew and Agnes (Kleparek) Kubicki. He had been a Toledo Police Patrolman for 25 years, retiring in 1983. Before that he was employed at General Mills and the Willys Overland Co. After retirement Walter was a guard at the Toledo Mental Health Center. He was also a Veteran of the U.S.Navy during WWII.
Walter enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, camping, gardening, bird watching, woodworking, making kielbasa and landjaegers and going to garage and estate sales. In his younger years, Walter played baseball and coached basketball. His memberships included Toledo Police American Legion Post #512, VFW Post #5530 and the F.O.P. Toledo Lodge #40.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Caroline, son Gerald, sisters Helen Sankovich and Marie Suwinski and brother Francis. He is survived by his children Paulette (Michael) Smith, Marcia (Brian) Mick, Timothy (Chris Lamb) Kubicki and Laura (Mark) Golembiewski; grandchildren Chad, Darrin, Lisa, Lindsey, Phillip, Ryan, Jason, Kyle and Jenna; great grandchildren Laken, Jaycie, Owen, Ellia and Cayden; brother Daniel and sister Stephanie Jankowski.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the W.K.Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., the VFW Post 5530 will have a Service at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mortuary. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery with Military Burial Honors.
