Charlene Helen Baron was invited to be with our Savior April 5, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 25, 1925 to Charles and Catherine Estelle Houck in Harrisburg, IL. At the age of 12, her family moved to Toledo, Ohio. She attended Historic St. Patrick’s School and was a 1943 graduate of Jessup W. Scott High School.
In her youth, Charlene was an underwater synchronized ballet swimmer, and highboard diver. After graduation she was employed by The Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and held the position of chief operator. Later she became the main lobby receptionist and main switchboard operator for the Jeep Corporation for nineteen years.
Charlene married the love of her life, Alfred J. Baron, in the Historic St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on October 23, 1948.   The family enjoyed many camping adventures throughout the United States.  Charlene and Al explored many foreign countries, enjoying over 30 cruises worldwide; they spent 25 winters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, having fun with their many friends, golfing, swimming, biking, and walking the sunny beaches.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred J. Baron, their 4 children: Douglas A.  Baron (Cathy),    Pamela (James) Krisher, Glen V.  Baron, Paula (Douglas) Bass.   She adored her role as Mimi to her grandchildren Dylan Bass, John Baron, Phillip (Kristina) Bass, Gregory Baron, Corey Bass, Kurtis Krisher, and great grandchildren Bianca Bass, Ava J. Bass, Jesah Bass, and Dain Bass, her sister Mary Jane Johnson, Mary’s son, Mike (Sharon) Gigandete, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit the W.K. Sujkowski and Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Monday from 2 to 8 pm. with a Scripture Service at 7pm.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 10, 2012 with prayers at the Mortuary at 9:30am followed by Mass at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church at 10am.  Special appreciation to the nursing members of Parkcliff Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice Care for the wonderful attention that they have given to Charlene.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.

To Whom Stone
“I was told by my mother”
Why a stone with a name on it
Why does it always seem to be
A problem til then?
Is it to say that I was here
Or a chance to stand next to it again?
Letters of the alphabet
Design the stone,
But language doesn’t hold the key!
It is the stages of life
That alter ageless memory.

Mimi’s laughter will echo in all of our hearts forever. She was the monarch of our family and will be ever loved.

To Al, Doug, Pam, Glen, Paula and all your families,
We are so very sorry for your loss.
I can remember my very first impression of Charlene, so many years ago.
" This is a Real Lady."
After all these years of knowing her, my first impression remains.
She was truly a "Real Lady".
She was a fine example of what a Lady, wife and mother should be.
We have seen how all of you were so very good in caring for Charlene during her time of illness.
We think each of you, are a wonderful example of a families love.
So very blessed to have had her in your life as she was so very blessed to have all of you.
May you all find peace in your saddened hearts.

Prayers and blessings to you,
Love,
Bob and Debbie (Sayre)Williams
