Melissa G. Cupps "Missy", 30, passed away peacefully while embraced by her loving family on June 15, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.   She was born on July 12, 1981 to Gary and Janet (Furstenberg) Cupps in Toledo. Melissa was an enthusiastic volunteer for Loma Linda’s and more recently at Toledo Children’s Hospital ‘Safe Kids’ program.   She loved listening to music especially country and was fortunate to meet one of her favorite bands Rascal Flatts.  Melissa also adored the Muppets. Since the day Melissa was born she always had a mature and selfless sense in life.  She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter Cupps, Geraldine Napierala and Patsy Furstenberg.  Surviving are her loving parents, Gary and Janet Cupps; dear sister, Shasta (Jon) Curtis; niece, Amelia Curtis; nephew, Wyatt Curtis; and grandfather, John Furstenberg. Also surviving are her aunts, uncles, several cousins and friends, especially her best friend, Christian Bruner.
Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 9:00am until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00am with Pastor Russ Merrin officiating.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.  The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their compassionate care and support.  Memorial tributes may be directed to Monclova Road Baptist Church.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.

Gary and Janet:

We are very sorry for your loss. Your devotion and hard work in raising and caring for Melissa has been a fine example to all. John 5:28, 29; Acts 24;15; and Isaiah 35:5-7 offer some comforting and encouraging words for times like this.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cupps,
It is with great sadness that I read of Melissa's passing. I was hoping to make it to the funeral home this morning but previous obligations prevented me from getting there in time.

It is with great fondness that I recall both of you and Melissa. You worked very hard to make sure that Melissa enjoyed her life to the fullest and that her "disability" was never a handicap. She was an integral part of your family and very much touched everyone she came in contact with in a very positive manner.

My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences go out to you and all of your family. I know that Missy's passing will leave a tremendous vacuum in your lives but I am sure that you will fill it with love and remembrances of a very special young lady.

I am barely a telephone call away if I can be of any help whatsoever.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Missy.

Be well!!

Dr. Munk

Gary & Janet and family,
So sorry to hear of Missy's passing. Please keep in mind we will all be together one day and there will be no more pain or sorrow, only unmeasurable joy and peace when we are wrapped safe in the arms of our Father.
Love, The Simpson's
