James Demski, of Sylvania, passed away on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on April 28, 1945, in Toledo, OH to Theodore and Florence (Szalkowski) Demski. Jim was a very generous person, always giving of himself to others and he showed this by volunteering for the Little Sisters of the Poor. An excellent chef, Jim was a master at using herbs and spices. He enjoyed creating new recipes and dishes to share with his loving family. Jim worked as a chef at the Top of the Tower, University of Toledo Carter Hall, Haughton Elevator and Sophia’s. Jim thoroughly enjoyed gardening and landscaping. With his father Ted, Jim won first place in the Lucas County contest for residential gardeners in 1999.
       He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his sister Carita Pakulski; brother Gerald (Patricia) Demski; nieces and nephew Jacqueline (Douglas) Hafner, Jarrod (Cheryl) Demski and Janelle (Rob) Morrow; great nieces and great nephews Tyler and Danielle Hafner, Aaron, Hailey and Ryan Morrow, Lucas and Sophia Demski and many cousins.
        Family and friends may visit after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday April 13, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania where Jim’s Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m.  Memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
