Rita Mae Gorajewski, age 82, of Delta Ohio, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2013 with her family at her side. Rita was born in Toledo on June 18, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Putz) Milewski. On July 4, 1954 she married Francis Gorajewski. Rita was a sales clerk for K Mart on Manhattan Blvd. for 23 years. She had quite an artistic flair and loved floral arranging, interior design and gardening. She won Blue Ribbons for floral arranging at the Fulton County Fair even though she only had the use of one arm after suffering a stroke a number of years ago. In the late 60’s and 70’s Rita operated a wedding cake decorating business from her home and she and her daughter ran a small craft order business.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, son Dale and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving daughter Debra and the best son-in-law in the Universe Richard Orzechowski; grandson Matthew; great grandsons Damien and Carson and her sister Dorothy Tuszinski.
Family and friends may visit Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will showcase her floral designs at the mortuary so in lieu of flowers tributes may be made to the Cherry St. Mission or you can bring in pet food that will be donated to the Toledo Humane Society.
Rita’s family extends special thanks to Dr. Upamaka and Dr. Uribes (Fulton Co.) and his staff for their excellent care. Also heartfelt thanks go out to Rita’s lifelong friend Nancy Thornton and friends Irene Kotsecky, Wanda Hoover and Marianne Kazmaier whose support meant so much.

Debbie,
So sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I worked with your mom many years @ Kmart. She was a wonderful caring friend and co-worker. You should be very proud of yourself for the unconditional love and care that you provided your mother with for many many years, I know she was so proud of you. I know you will miss her as she was such a big part of your everyday life, but know you were always there for her and with her, for that you should be very proud. Know that she is resting peacefully now and you will be with her and your Dad some day to rejoice again.
