Ray William “Rick” Courtney II, age 62, passed away on Tuesday December 3, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Rick was born in Oakland, Michigan on June 11, 1951, the son of Ray W. and Bessie Irene (Henry) Courtney. He worked over 20 years in management for Chrysler, retiring in 2005. Rick enjoyed NASCAR, golf, softball and was an avid University of Michigan and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He especially loved his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with his family.
  Rick is survived by his loving wife Helen Sue (Moore) Courtney; sons Ray William “Ricky” Courtney III and Joshua Davis Courtney; daughter Shannon Marie (Robert) Basler; step-son, Bob C. Griffith, Jr.; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 7 grandchildren Katie, Keira, Cole, Addison and Ally and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
   Family and friends may visit Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 10625 Reed Rd, Monclova Ohio where a celebration of Rick’s life will begin at 2 p.m. The family prefers tributes be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the church.

Having known Rick for nearly ten years, I am truly sad with his departure. It has been a privilege to know him. He was a good neighbor and a better friend. I will miss him and his quick, slicing wit.
