Anna Pawlowicz, who celebrated her 102nd birthday on February 12, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 16th, 2014. Anna was the daughter of David and Madeline Kopena and was born in Rossford, Ohio in 1912. She worked 27 years for the former Electric Autolite Corp. and at Gladieux Foods. In later years she did domestic cleaning and babysitting for a number of families. Anna was an avid reader, loved to sew and was an excellent baker known for her pies and pie crusts. She was also a founding member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.
  Anna was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Kopena and sisters Natalie Paulochak, Mildred Wrobel and Mary Daubner. She is survived by her loving daughter Carol Hendrzak; brother Michael Kopena; grandchildren Kristin (Ziad) Musallam and Gregory (Joan) Hendrzak; great grandchildren Gregory (Amy) Jr, Jeffery (Jennifer), Jonathan and James Hendrzak, Emily and Tarik Musallam; great great grandchildren Tessa, Paisley and Nash and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit Thursday February 20, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at the
W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where a Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will begin with prayers in the Mortuary Friday at 9:30a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, (Department 142), Memphis, TN 38101-9908 (or donate online to: www.stjude.org/tribute).
  Anna’s family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff at Whitehouse Country Manor, especially nurses Jodi and Tracy for the loving, compassionate care given over the last months. It was truly appreciated.
