Alice F. Janatowski, age 95, passed away July 6, 2014 at the Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania. Alice was born in Toledo October 2, 1918 to Joseph and Frances Dudek. Having lost her father at a very early age, her mother remarried to Stanley Zychowicz. Together they raised and loved her, her brother Albin and sister Patricia.
  Alice married Jerome Janatowski on September 2nd, 1939. She worked 30 years for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Co, retiring in 1981. Alice loved to garden, read books and play cards. She was a member of the Toledo Telephone Pioneers, Franciscan Guild and was a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
  Alice is survived by her sons Thomas and Gregory (Priscilla) Janatowski; grandchildren Tamra, Janelle, Jason (Sonia) and Joel Janatowski; great grandchildren Marcus Hartford, Juliana, Jaron, Joaquin, Keiden Janatowski, Thomas Nowowiejski and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her fathers Joseph Dudek and Stanley Zychowicz, mother Frances Zychowicz, husband Jerome, brother Albin Dudek and sister Patricia Kott.  
  Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where the Rosary will be recited at 7p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held Thursday July 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the family will receive visitors after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
  Many thanks go to the staff at Franciscan Care Center, especially Sr. Jordan and to Alice’s very special niece Paulette Rosch.
Memorial tributes may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Parish or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dear family of Alice Janatowski,
Our career in Colombia through
I am so sorry to learn of Alice's passing. Please receive my sincerest condolences and know that you and she are in our prayers.

And, for you, Tom, I'm sad you lost your mom. It's been years since we last saw each other, probably one of those Sunday night rides back to Columbus. I followed your career through Syra and Esperanza Nino. I will let them know.

I volunteer at the Franciscan Care Center. Alice was a great lady and I enjoyed my time with her. My condolences to the Family.

Dear Janatowski Family and John Staczek:

Many thanks to John Staczek.

John I remember you from the Inverness Golf Club, Central Catholic High School ,and The Ohio State University. I remember both you and Tom Tomczak. I also remember that you got a PhD in Spanish at the University of Toledo and went to Colombia to teach.
