Vaughn R. Langley, 93, of Toledo passed away on July 28, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.  He was born on November 25, 1920 to Nick and Edna (Johnson) Langley in Lenoir City, TN.  Vaughn proudly served his country in active duty serving as a medic during WWII in the U.S. Army.  After the service, Vaughn began his career with the Toledo Fire Department and with the railroad.   He eventually worked exclusively with the railroad, retiring from Conrail after many dedicated years. Vaughn was a former member of the Zenobia Shriners Sylvania Pyramid #287, the Maumee Elks, the Rossford F.O.E. Aerie 2322, V.F.W. Post 3265, and A.L. Conn-Weissenberger Post 587.  He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing and golfing where he made a ‘hole-in-one’ on number 7 at Spuyten Duyval.   Vaughn was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.  Most of all, Vaughn was a devoted family man and cherished the time he spent with his family especially getting together for the holidays and family events.  He will always be truly and lovingly remembered.
Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Rosalind; brother A.J.; and sisters, Edith and Velma.  Surviving is his daughter Robin Stine Parra; granddaughter Trudy Whitehead; great grandchildren Morgan, Justin and Jordan Whitehead; nieces Pam, Cathy, Gerry and Barb; and also many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.  He was a wonderful father, grandpa and great grandpa who will be dearly missed.
Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2-8p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:30a.m. in the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.  The family would like to thank his fiancée, Lena Birtalan for her loving care.  They would also like to express a special thank you to the staff at Bay Park Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their compassionate care and support and to close family friend Beth Dodd for her many devoted hours she spent with the family.
