Edward H. Sterling

   On Friday, October 3, 2014, we lost a great husband, father and grandfather.  Edward, age 87, passed away very peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family.  Ed has been saying he did everything in life that he wanted to do.  Ed was born on April 6, 1927 and he lived a very active life.  He worked with Insulators Local 45 and retired in 1987.  Edward was an active member of Spuyten Duyval golf course and golfed for over 30 years.
         He loved fishing and did it as often as he could.  Lake Erie and Long Lake in Reading were his favorite spots.  Going to the lake brought back memories from his younger years where he spent time when he was growing up.  He was also an avid walker, doing it every day for many years.  Ed belonged to the St. Hyacinth Church Seniors.  They enjoying many bus trips to different casinos.  He also went to Vegas a couple times.  
After losing his first wife, Josephine, Ed met and married his present and surviving wife, Eleanor (Zdrojewski) Sterling.  Ed is survived by his children, Susie (Bob) Duerringer, Ed (Sandy) Sterling, Jimmy (Julie) Sterling, Gary (Heather) Zdrojewski, Darlene (Wayne) Bagrowski, Marlene (Ed) Chapman; grandchildren, Jessie, Katie, Emily, Ashley, Marissa, Mallory, Abbey, Lisa, Crissy, Roni, Michael, Tonia, Chad, Nick, Jennifer, Amanda, Samantha, and Robbie; and many great grandchildren.  
Family and friends may visit on Monday, from 2-8p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30a.m. with Deacon Tom Carone officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
