Helen L. Slomowicz, age 90, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Spring Meadows. Helen was born August 24, 1924 in Holland, Ohio. She retired from Jeep in 1988. An avid traveler, she was a member of Corda Club. Helen was a devout Catholic who performed charitable works for those in need, volunteering for many years at Our Lady of Lourdes soup kitchen. She brightened many lives with her vibrant personality and will be greatly missed.
    Helen is survived by her children Michael (Jan) Slomowicz and Donna Swicegood; her sisters Bernice Lewandowski and Dorothy Weckle; grandchildren Andy (Andrea) and Trisha (Joe Morrison) Slomowicz, Deanna Bobak, Desiree (Ben Rogers) Swicegood and Danielle (Scott) Cooper and her great grandchildren Alex, Paige, Nick, Stacey, Aiden, Calla and Jasper.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, Daniel Slomowicz, son-in-law, Don Swicegood; parents Stanley and Frances Napierala; brothers John, Daniel, Joseph and Roman and her sisters, Lucille Fritz and Marie Pawlaczyk.
Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2-8p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2014 at 9:15a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Lourdes ‘We Build’ campaign or Promedica Hospice.
Helen’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses on the 7th floor at Flower Hospital; her compassionate caregivers at Astor House and Spring Meadows and Promedica Hospice.
