Kathleen A. Rectenwald, age 80, passed away on Monday December 22, 2014. Kathleen was born in Toledo oh December 31, 1933 to Walter and Mabel (Sullivan) Wahmhoff. It is difficult to find the words to describe a woman that has touched so many lives in so many ways. She meant the world to her family as well as her friends and they meant the world to her.
Alzheimer's may have taken her life but the horrible disease never touched that sweet, positive attitude and it certainly never took the memory of her true love of 59 years, as she remembered him to the very end.  She was a supportive partner with her husband throughout their life, as together they built a successful family business, Ohio Excavating, from the ground up.
Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family, whether it was at home or traveling around the world.  Annual trips to Las Vegas and Cedar Point were a must.  She loved playing cards, games, camping, the water and taking walks.  What a powerful tool she used to instill such love and values into her children and her strong Catholic faith helped to guide her. For all of those who loved her, you will always live on in our thoughts, hearts and prayers
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law George Fisher; sisters Mary Jane Irelan, Rita Carlisle and Helen Nachtrab; step brothers Fr. Ralph Reichert and Frank Reichert Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Richard; children Renee Fisher, Rick Rectenwald, Mary Pat (Richard) Graven, Lisa (Greg) Nowak, Kelly (fiancé Mike) Carver and Jason (Kristen) Rectenwald. Kathleen was a loving grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 2.
Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the Mortuary on Saturday December 27, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.  The family extends special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care and requests memorial tributes be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Condolences to Dick and Family.Kathy was a wonderful person. Fondly recall enjoying so many eat outs and card games over the decades. Now visualize Kathy and my Janie together again and sitting down for witty conversations over a game of cards...
