John J. Olszewski Jr., age 83, passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. John was born November 8, 1931 in Toledo, the son of John and Anna (Karamol) Olszewski Sr. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. John was a member of the Przybylski American Legion Post # 642 and the Logsdon Walla Post # 639 Catholic War Veterans. He was an inspector 43 years for Aklin Stamping and retired in 1996. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where he was an usher and volunteered at the Hospitality Kitchen.
John was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Ila. He is survived by his daughter Veronica (Mike) Hoffman; sister Rosemary (Melvin) Mazany; grandchildren Gregory (Jennifer) and Christopher (Lori) Hoffman; great grandchildren Nathan and on the way ? Hoffman; niece Pat (Dale) Buehrer.
  Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where CWV Post # 639 will recite the Rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will begin with prayers in the Mortuary Saturday January 17, 2015 at 9:15a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo.
