Joseph Richard “Joe” Babcock passed this life on December 25, 2015. Joe was proud to be a Journeyman member in good standing of Boiler Makers Union Local # 85, Toledo Ohio. An accomplished mechanic and welder, Joe carried many certifications. Ever the “Git-R-Done” hard worker, he played even harder on his “MUD MACHINES”, motorcycles and trucks. Joe also enjoyed hunt’n and fish’n with his “BIG AS THE GREAT OUTDOORS” personality. Joe loved his friends and would help anyone in need that he met along the way.
Family was always first with Joe and his daughter Jolena was his most treasured and loved person in the whole world. Much loved and greatly missed, Joseph is survived by his parents Richard Lyle and Mary Lou Babcock; brothers Benjamen (Rose), Abraham (Jennifer) and Timothy (Jenna) Babcock and Jenni Cook with unborn child.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday January 2, 2016 after 9 a.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where a memorial service and sharing of memories will begin at 11 a.m. Following these, a luncheon and continued time of sharing will be held at the Boiler Makers Union Local #85 Hall, 319 Glenwood Rd., Rossford, Ohio.

Joe was recently introduced into our Cook family. The first thing that jumped out about Joe was that he seemed filled with contentment and very happy with life... He fit into our family as though he had always been there... He and our Jenny seemed content and truly happy with the way their life path was traveling. One could see that Joe's soul was filled with laughter as it showed thru those twinkling blue eyes of his. We could see the love that he and our Jenny shared. On Christmas eve Joe played with our little people....the kids seem to be attached to him like metal to a magnet ...Of course the adults all became child like on this magical evening and had a Christmas paper war...so much laughter, ducking, diving and throwing and Joe was in the fun of it all...One hand resting gently on Jenny's leg and the other throwing at anyone and everyone...I did not have the privileged of knowing Joe for very long but he is one of those personalities that once you meet him you won't forget him. He made his touch on my heart...I am praying for Joe's daughter, his friends, family and Jenny who are all experiencing such heavy sadness and heart break at this time..I am also praying for Joe and Jenny's unborn child, my great niece or great nephew who will never know the young man that would have been his or her dad...Joe was excited about this baby, he mentioned it several times with a great big smile on his face...Joe was a part of our Christmas this last Christmas eve and I can say for all of our family that we were blessed to have known Joe even if it was only for a moment of time here in this place and he will be missed by all. We feel cheated that we will never get the opportunity of time to really get to know the nice young man that stole our Jenny's heart...Joe you will be missed.. We will watch out for Jenny and baby here in this place below as you watch there from heaven above...

my family would like to say to the Babcock family & daughter of Joe's our deepest goes out to you all. Our family knew Joe from Monclova Elementary School. My daughters Jenn & Aimee Hunt attended there. I also remember that Joe had a crush on Jenn. Joe will be sadly missed in the days to come. Time will heal but i the mean time remember the good memories you have all share. Deepest sympathy.

Rich & Mary Lou, Ben, Abe, Tim, and Jinny, I am extremely sorry for the loss of Joe.
I pray that God will give you strength through Saturday and the coming days, weeks, months. God understands clearer than anyone the pain , the confusion, the heartbreak.
Please ask God constantly to help you going forward and He will do it. I wish I had the opportunity to know Joe much better. Sounds like his personality brought so many smiles, fun, and contentment. His legacy will live in our hearts, and seen in those he has been closest to. Warm Hope for your future. Boilermaker brother Larry Avery

It was always a pleasure to work with Joe, he will be sadly missed by me and my family. I enjoyed watching him ride his motorcycle and the fun he had.
