John was one of the good guys. I was fortunate to play on the same team with him. The game reference brought back a lot of memories. I'm truly sorry for your loss and sure he will be missed

Annabelle and family,
I have know Butch from the CYO grade school football days he was at Nativity. We then became classmate and more importantly team mates at SFHS. John was a hard working and hard playing person. Being two "Polacks" from the 14th Ward, we took great satisfaction in trouncing those Polacks from the 4th Ward in that historic inaugural game. I can say Butch was the first wide receiver I played with that you could count on him running the pass route as it was diagrammed. He was so dependable. After graduation we went on separate paths but I did keep aware of him through my brother who remained in Toledo for the most part. We did get to see each other a few times I'd be back in Toledo and then the last time at the 50th reunion in 2009. I always respected and admired John. He was one good guy. I can remember those SFHS proms and dances when you would attend in the gymnasium.
God speed on his new journey. Congratulations and full and meaningful life together.

Dear Annabelle and all the rest of the Buczkowski family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I always remember John fondly. He was very kind to me, and he was quite an inspiring person. A great sense of humor too.
I am very sorry I couldn't make the memorial, to properly pay my respects.
