Charles, so sorry to read of your mom's death. She was indeed a fun and special lady. I was always fascinated watching her type when she had her at-home business. She would allow me to use her machine, one key at a time, when she wasn't working. That started my real fascination with typewriters. I bought a business quality machine with babysitting money before eighth grade ended. I have your mom to thank for starting me on the secretarial path where I eventually met my husband. You know your mom was my Confirmation sponsor back in November, 1958. I took your Aunt Joyce's name for my Confirmation name. Loved both of these women. My mom was in the hospital at that time. Your mom decorated our dining room, had a lovely cake for me and made my day special in every way. She will not be forgotten. Memories eternal. You have my deepest sympathy.
