Leonard J. Lechlak, age 81, of Toledo, Ohio, (formerly of Temperance, Michigan) passed away peacefully at Rosary Care Center, Sylvania, Ohio, October 18, 2016.
He was born to Leo and Techla Lechlak on November 23, 1934.  Leonard was the youngest of three children.  He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two sisters, Joan Latchuk and Sr. Emily Lechlak, OSF.
     Leonard married the love of his life, Christine, in Toledo on May 5, 1956.  They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.  Leonard and Christine loved to travel.  Favorite destinations included Nova Scotia, Las Vegas, and northern Michigan.  Leonard was an avid outdoorsman and could be found in the woods on opening day of deer hunting season.  He also enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing.
     Leonard was a skilled tool-and-die maker and worked for various employers ending his career with retirement from Chrysler.  He also enjoyed an entrepreneurial spirit including selling Christmas trees and coin collecting.
     Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Christine; daughters Karen (Terry) Wozniak; Susan (Michael) Sawyer; and Lori Biggs.  Grandchildren – Gregory Wozniak; Julie (Tony) Holmes; Amanda (Shaun) Ziehr; Steven (Jamie) Sawyer; and Jenna Biggs.  Leonard was also blessed with great-grandchildren – Savannah and Julian Holmes; Easton and Isla Ziehr; Mason (and soon to be Molly) Sawyer.  Leonard leaves behind his constant, loyal companion, Princess.
     The family would like to thank the staff at Oakleaf Village, Rosary Care Center, and Lisa of Southern Care Hospice for the kindness shown to Leonard and the family. A memorial service will be held at Rosary Care Chapel on Sunday, November 6, at 4:00 p.m.  The family requests any donations be made to Cherry Street Mission Ministries and/or the Sisters of St. Francis, Sylvania, Ohio.
