On behalf of my whole family in Poland (in particular Halina’s sister-in-law, Zosia), I would like to express our sincere condolences to Halina’s family. As a granddaughter of Halina’s brother, Florian, I had a chance to meet Halina only once but she immediately struck me as my grandfather’s faithful ‘copy.’ Despite so many hardships in their lives, more than their fair share, it seemed that a constant smile always adorned their faces and they both radiated warmth through their unassuming manner. Halina loved to cook and my grandfather loved to eat. Hope they have a proper party now with all the other family members present, speaking Polish and English, enjoying themselves and catching up on all the latest news. May she rest in peace and be always remembered as an elegant warm lady with that lovely smile on her face. (From: Magda, Zofia Stefaniak and all the family members in Poland)

My sincerest sympathy to Halina's family. I was a friendly volunteer visitor for her the last year. She reminded me so much of my husband's aunts from Poland. A sweet, sweet lady whom I enjoyed visiting very much.
