Bernard J. Kaminski Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018.  He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 3, 1929 to Louise (Herman) Kaminski and Edmund Kaminski. He attended grade school at St. Hyacinth’s and graduated from Central Catholic High School.  Bernie worked many years with his father and grandfather at Calvary Cemetery.  He then worked as the Head of Property Management at Owens-Illinois Technical Center where he retired in 1984.  He married his lifelong friend Barbara Hudson-Chapp in 1983 and combined their two families.  Bernie and Barbara enjoyed many years snow birding between Pickerel Lake in Onsted, Michigan and their home in the beautiful Florida Keys. They loved being on the water year-round and soaking in the peaceful views.  After hurricane Irma in 2017, they settled in Hillsdale, Michigan making new friends and memories.  Family was an important treasure to Bernie, he was very proud of each and every one.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Barbara; sister, Angela; sons, Michael (Patt), Kenneth (Deanna), Bernard Jr. (Pam); daughter, Julie Gunn; step-sons, Larry (Wendy) Chapp, Tom Chapp and Joe (Heidi) Chapp; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joanne Rooney; and son-in-law, Keith Gunn.
  Family and friends may visit at on Wednesday, from 3-7:00 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy.   Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2018 with a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Gesu Church, where friends may visit after 11:00 a.m.   Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial tributes may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

So sorry to hear about Bernie Sr., we knew him back in the late 70's and were very close at the time before we lost touch. I even lost touch with Bernie Jr. Bernie if you read this, so sorry to hear about your dad. Please reach out if you want, i would love to hear from you.
