On Saturday, February 20th, 2021, John Ralph Messinger, loving brother, uncle, great uncle and dear friend, passed away at the age of 67. John graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  John was a photographer for Mid-American Racing News before starting his 29-year career with University of Toledo Medical Hospital (formerly the Medical College of Ohio), University Toledo Physicians.
John had a passion for blues music and played bass with the likes of Mudfoot and the Blues Messengers along with Big Jack Reynolds.  He was known for his quick wit, great laugh, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
John is preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and mother, Marjorie.  He is survived by his siblings Mark, Matthew, Luke, Laura and several cousins, nieces and nephews. John loved his nieces and nephews and always made them laugh, for which he will forever be remembered.
The family would like to give special thanks to two earthly angels who have been by John’s side for many years, Lura Kott and Alison Hill.  Our family is forever grateful for the love and care that they provided for our dear brother.
At this time there will not be a celebration of John’s life until all family members can be assembled. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in John’s memory to your favorite charity.
