Kathy A Kaczmarek

Katherine A. Kaczmarek, 79, of Toledo, OH passed away on October 18, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1942, to Paul and Rose (Wolfe) Welsh.
   Kathy grew up in West Toledo, attended St. Catherine’s Catholic grade school and graduated from St. Ursula Academy in 1960. She then went on to marry the love of her life, Jim on April 18, 1967.  Together, they raised two daughters in South Toledo, where Kathy continued to live in the same home they created for over 50 years.
    After raising her daughters, Kathy worked in the Student Life Office at the University of Toledo Medical Center (MCO) retiring in 2011. A lifelong member of St Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Church, Kathy enjoyed volunteering, golf, card club, Stranahan Theater and hosting parties for family, friends, and neighbors. The best of times was spent at the cottage where Kathy and Jim created a home, lifelong friends, and countless memories at Lake Seneca.
    Her true joys are those who called her Grandma and Booshie; her five grandsons whom she adored, along with her great-grandson. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Kathy lived life selflessly, always caring for others over herself and enjoyed her life.
    Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; and sister, Susan Cowdrey-Smith. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Kimberly (Joey) Bais and Kara (Keith) Davis; grandsons, Conor (Olivia), Brycen, Macen, Zach and Mitchell; great grandson Liam; brother, James Welsh (Cathy); sister, Diane Fogt; brothers in law Jerry (Ruth), Keith (Carol) and sister-in-law Karen Biscay; many nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly; along with many lifelong friends.
    Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 2-8:00 PM, at W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy, with scripture services at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 26th, with prayers in the mortuary at 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
