Raymond S. Zawierucha, 92, of Toledo, passed away on April 28, 2022. He was born on August 26, 1929, to Steve and Helen (Wodarski) Zawierucha in Toledo. Raymond proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corp as a military policeman. While serving his time with the Marines in Quantico, VA, Raymond taught self-defense to the F.B.I. He worked as an assembler for Thermatrue, the former Lake Shore Industry. Raymond was a lifelong parishioner of St. Hyacinth Church and their choir and he also was a member of C.W.V. Logsdon-Walla Post 639. He was a gifted singer of many different languages and sang with many different polka bands in the Toledo area for over 30 years.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Daniel, Francis, David, Joanne Thompson and Mary Anne Zawierucha. He will be dearly missed by his brother, Joe (Linda) Zawierucha; sister-in-law, Loretta Zawierucha; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 3-8:00 p.m., with C.W.V. Logsdon-Walla Post 639 services at 7:00 p.m., at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at St. Hyacinth Church at 10:30 a.m., where friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
