Ronald K. Houser, a loving husband, beloved brother, and the greatest father, passed away on September 25, 2021, surrounded by his wife and two daughters. Ron was 60 years old, born on November 10, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Whiteford High and became a man of many traits. There was nothing he could not do.
Ron was known as the cookie man, as he delivered Keebler and Kellogg snacks for 32 years. Ron also served 29 years on the Springfield Fire Department and worked as a firefighter/engineer/EMT. Ron also was known for his work through Springfield High Schools Band Boosters, where he ran the football and basketball concession stands for 11 years. On the side, Ron along with his brother, Jon Houser, developed a side business of building and creating custom built decks and fences. Deciding he retired too young, he decided to go back to work and become a 2nd shift supervisor at Clarios.
On June 2, 1984, Ron married the love of his life, Nancy and together created his proudest accomplishment, his family. He always made sure his family was well taken care of and put in countless hours to make sure we all felt loved, safe, and supported. Ron was the nicest man, always willing to lend a helping hand and was always there for his girls.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his furry grand-dogs. He enjoyed cooking with his wife and having their Saturday morning Costco runs. Ron enjoyed attending hockey, baseball and football games with his daughters, Brie and Caitlin. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool and going bowling with his favorite UNO partner, and the son he never had, Josh.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his in-laws, Richard, and Bernadine Borucki. He will forever be missed by his loving wife, Nancy (Borucki); daughters, Brieanna and Caitlin (Josh Alvarez); grand-dogs, Georgie, Bailey, and Jackson. Siblings, Darlene (Larry) Lindner, Brenda (Jim) Bates, Gene Houser, and Jon (Kara) Houser, and many friends.
Family and friends may visit on Friday from 2-8:00 p.m., with Last Alarm services at 5:00 p.m., at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be directed to Save-A-Pet.
