Teresa A. Hayes, age 89, passed away on July 11, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice Center, Sylvania. Teresa was born June 5, 1923 in Toledo, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Okonski) Szymanowski. She worked as an assembler at the Willys Overland and also worked at Libbey Glass.
    Teresa was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of Adams Twp. American Legion Post #553 Auxiliary where she enjoyed time with the ladies. Teresa was a former President of the County Council of the American Legion.
    She loved summers at her cottage on Sand Lake and cherished the time spent with her family. Teresa loved to sew and crochet, making many hats, scarves, mittens and blankets.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and is survived by her loving children Kenneth Hayes Jr. (Candice), Patrick Hayes (Carol) and Joanne Burnham (David); grandchildren Christine Nowowiejski (Stas), Kenneth Hayes III (Sarah), David Burnham (Sarah), Eric Burnham (Colleen), Natlie Kristiansen (Erik) and Kevin Burnham and great grandchildren Barry, Autumn, Devin, Tyler, Georgia, Dylan, Caleb, Dominic, Killian, Kali and Erica.
     Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy where the AL Post #553 Aux. Services at 6:30 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the mortuary on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
     The family would like to thank Dr. Blossom and the staff at Ebeid Hospice center for their guidance and care. Tributes may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Fund or Ebeid Hospice Center.

I am taking comfort remembering all of the great times I had with Cocie Teresa. We are sorry for your loss and will be praying for all of you.
