Nina Johnson, age 93, passed away on October 22, 2012 at Heartland of Perrysburg, Ohio where she resided. Nina was born in McCutchenville, Ohio on December 2, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Emma (Dixon) Basel. She was a graduate of Heidelberg College and Bowling Green State University.
    Nina was a teacher for over 20 years at various schools in Ohio, including McCutchenville Elementary School and she retired from the Dayton/Kettering School System. Nina was an accomplished piano player, sewed all her own clothes and enjoyed quilting and painting.
    She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Dayton and William Myers Chapter # 196, Order of the Eastern Star. Before moving to Perrysburg, Nina resided at Waterford Retirement Center in Centerville, OH.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, son David, sisters Mildred Basel and Neva Coy and brother Neal Basel. She is survived by her loving nephews Larry (Francie Hall), Duane (Lesta) and Nelson Basel; Ronald (Diana), Dennis (Phyllis), Robert, John (Kathryn), Thomas (Jeanne) Coy and James (Sharon) Mullholand.
   Graveside Services will be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at South Bend (Bethel) Cemetery, McCutchenville, Ohio.
     The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Odyssey Hospice, Heartland of Perrysburg and Waterford at Levis Commons for the compassionate care given to Nina during her illness.

I will always cherish the memories of you and I playing the piano together when I was a little girl and definately will never forget that your smile of yours. Rest in peace Aunt Nina, my entire family; Scott, Ethan, Brittani and Tate will miss you!
