Robert Jesse “Bob” Martin, age 68, of Temperance, MI. passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 29, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in the car on the way to Toledo Hospital on November 6, 1944, the 7th of 8 children of Jesse and Elsie (Clegg) Martin.
  Bob grew up on Dorcas Rd. in Holland and was a 1963 graduate of Springfield High School. He married Carolyn (Eley) a week after graduation and they enjoyed 50 years of wedded bliss together. Bob worked for Johns-Manville, Doehler Jarvis, Surface Combustion and U-Haul. He was a project supervisor for Duke’s Industries, a job that took him to Puebla, Mexico, Quebec, Texas, Indiana and many points in between. He retired from Crown Cork and Seal. Bob was an avid golfer and played 5 days a week and twice on Mondays. He enjoyed camping and hiking, reading books of all kinds and he was a member of T.A.M.E. miniatures for 24 years.
  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Neil and Jack and sister Lynn Karpinski. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Eley); devoted daughters Stephanie (Jim) Briskey and Andrea (Greg) Piskula; grandchildren Bryan, Jessica and Theresa Briskey; sisters Beverly Hendrickson, Barbara Bracht and Sharon Morrin and numerous extended family and friends.
   Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11a.m.

Bob was a good man. We will never forget his kindness to us through the years. Nor will we ever forget his Irish sense humor. He, also, was a man who loved his wife and family, and it showed. We will miss him.
