Victoria Olejownik, age 99, passed away on May 14, 2014. Victoria was the daughter of George and Anna (Kosobucki) Knapik and was born in Toledo on November 25, 1914.
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Victoria Olejownik.  The world was truly a better place with her hand and heart in it.  Vickie, as known to many was kind, caring, and loving.  She worked hard her entire life working various jobs as well as taking caré of those she loved within her family.  Vickie shared her time and many talents with others.  She traveled when she could but also enjoyed sewing and cooking.  Vickie's determination and problem solving assisted her in taking on any challenge.  If there was a better way to do something, she would find it.   Vickie had great compassion, patience, and understanding for all.  She shared often her knowledge of her past through stories retold when she was growing up as well as imparting thoughtful wisdom into the future.  Vickie was not just an aunt but a treasured friend and mother to all.  She will be deeply missed and is leaving behind wonderful memories to those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert, sisters Rose Holewinski and Sophie Janowiecki, brothers Ted and John and nephew George (Marlene) Knapik. She is survived by her nephews Paul (Susan Cole) Holewinski and David (Connie) Knapik, special niece Amy McGee, great nephews Adam and Alex Holewinski, Kevin (Anissa) Knapik and great nieces Amy and Andrea Knapik and Alyson (Wynn) Martin.
Family and friends may visit Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the mortuary on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Victoria’s memory to the donor’s choice of charity.
