Christine A. Hartman (Kurek) passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2015. She was born on February 22, 1947, in Toledo, OH to Anthony and Lottie Kurek. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1965 and earned her nursing degree in 1981.
Chris married her love, John Hartman, on October 23, 1965 and they had just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends.
She was retired from the Veterans Administration where she had worked as an LPN, and had been living with her husband in North Port, FL for the past 3 years. She was a member of Garden Park and Living Hope Churches in Toledo, and  was very active with Jacob's Well Church in North Port, serving as treasurer for the past 2 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and raising butterflies, and going to the beach.
She is survived by her loving husband, John, her daughters Melissa (Bryan) Layman, Amy (Brian) Mullins, Kimberly Hartman, and Jennifer (Chris) Ahern, her sisters Barb (Vic) Sherrick, and Nancy (Ron) Korsog, and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Sr. Mary Lou Kurek.
Although we know she is in God's hands, we miss her dearly and will love her always.
Family and friends may visit Thursday October 29, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where a Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, condolences, and prayers as we navigate this difficult time.

Dearest friends,
Chris was one of the loveliest, kindest, most Godly women we've ever known. You've brought so much joy into our lives; so many good memories of church and Bible studies together. You stood firmly beside us through rough times in our lives and we are so blessed. We will miss Chris so very, very deeply, and keep all of you close in our hearts and in our prayers!
Love, Brian and Kendra

We can't imagine how hard this time is for you, John, and your children and grandchildren. You and Chris are a shining example of a solid marriage rooted in faith, which is such a beautiful legacy. 28 years ago, Chris made our wedding cake--she put so much thoughtfulness into it, and I'm sure she was like that for everyone she helped! Sending you our deepest condolences and prayers for comfort.
In Sympathy,
Patty (Chlebowski), Bob, Dane & Emma Hoffman

Whenever I think of Chris, I see a smiling face. Ok, ok, maybe I got to see a few other expressions, but only those that one of her own would know. Her warmth radiated through the room Sunday when I saw her. Always had a hug for me and made me feel welcome, as a part of the family (Thank you Chris). A big hug and prayers for all of you as you embrace this sudden change in your life. I love you all, Tricia.

We are very sorry to hear this tragic news. Chris was an amazing, loving and caring woman. She too was going to make our wedding cake for us in just 19 days, we were so honored to have been a part of her life. Her smile lit up a room. We will miss Chris and pray for strength for her lovely husband and family. We use to compared nursing stories, talked about her butterflies and she loved the song amazing grace. She would set up church every Sunday, made sure we all had cake and coffee before each service. We will miss you Chris. We love you!

Chris was very special in our lives. We were so happy when Chris and John came to Jackie's graduation party.
Chris and I had a few things in common too. We both graduated from Rogers and we shared the same birthday.
Chris was a very sweet and thoughtful person who will be miss a lot.
